Laura Donnelly Cast as Jenny Fraser
Jenny Fraser Murray, Jamie Fraser's older sister
~ smart, experienced, and as stubborn and quick-tempered as her brother ~
is responsible for running the Fraser estate of Lallybroch during Jamie's exile.
Married to Jamie's best friend, Ian Murray, Jenny is mother to Young Jamie
and is expecting their second child when the series begins.
A native of Belfast, Ireland, Laura Donnelly's credits include Hello Carter, the lead role of 'Abbey' in Dread, and the lead role of 'Rachel' in Insatiable, The Fall (BBC), Missing (ABC). She is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Lotte Verbeek Cast as Geillis Duncan

The enigmatic Geillis Duncan, wife of the procurator fiscal, is an integral part of the
Outlander storyline. Commonly referred to as awitch, due to her advanced knowledge of
herbs and plants, Geillis is a beautiful, dark presence in the village outside Castle Leoch.
Many fear her, but come to her secretly when they need assistance with medical matters that
most doctors of the time would shun. Geillis has mastered the art of manipulation and uses it to
bend others, including her own husband, to her will. She and Claire share an immediate connection and Geillis becomes a friend to Claire in a time and place where she is seen as an outsider.
Verbeck was most recently seen in the Showtime series The Borgias, as Guilia Franese, the 'ravishing' mistress of Pope Alexander VI, played by Jeremy Irons. She has earned several acting awards and nominations, and is currently working on the feature film The Fault in Our Stars, opposite Harrison Ford. [LR: one of my favorite reads of 2012 by the amazingly talented John Greene and recently filmed in my hometown of Pittsburgh.] She is a graduate of the Amsterdam Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Amsterdam Academy of Jazz/Musical Theatre and Dance.
LR: Another amazing casting choice by the STARZ team. She is a fabulous actress and the part of Geillis is (obviously) a complex one. What are your thoughts?
